About the Artist
Leah Lasry
Mixed Media Artist and Educator
From Montreal to Jerusalem, weaving spirituality into art
I'm Leah Lasry, originally from Montreal, Canada. In 2010, I made the life-changing move to Israel—a journey that has deeply shaped both my personal and artistic path. With a background in Psychology and Social Work, I’ve loved art since I was a little girl, but it was through art classes I took during my Psychology degree that I discovered new ways to express myself creatively. Since then, I’ve been exploring and experimenting with different materials and techniques to bring deeper meaning to my work.
Since 2007, I’ve worked as a mixed media artist, blending tradition with innovation. My pieces incorporate stained glass, crushed glass, mirror, acrylics, and sometimes even fragments from the land of Israel—each element adding layers of meaning and connection to the soul of this land I love so deeply.
My work is inspired by a deep love for Jerusalem and a desire to tell stories through the rich tapestry of Judaism. Over the years, I’ve been grateful to see my work shared in group exhibitions and featured in publications like Jewish Art Magazine, Jfeed, Built by Olim, and Yad Mizrah Magazine.
Since 2011, I’ve also been teaching weekly mosaic classes, helping women in Jerusalem tap into their creative energy and discover the joy of making something beautiful with their own hands.
Today, I live in the heart of Jerusalem with my family, continuing to create art that goes beyond aesthetics—art that carries meaning, memory, and hope. You can follow me on Facebook and Instagram for a behind-the-scenes look at my process and my creative world.
